Schiaparelli’s Spring /Summer 2025 Collection Celebrates futuristic Femininity

 Alongside the garments, the accessories were truly remarkable: belts, bags, and heels featured delightful surprises such as crystal embellishments, complemented by the house's distinctive anatomical and trompe l’oeil designs. 

 Theme of the Collection: "Schiaparalien"
Schiaparelli, deeply rooted in the Surrealist artistic movement since its inception in the 1920s and 1930s, has long been associated with avant-garde elegance. Elsa Schiaparelli, affectionately known as Schiap, maintained a close friendship with the famed artist Salvador Dalí, often collaborating on innovative designs. One of the most iconic results of their partnership was the "Lobster Dress" from the spring/summer collection of 1937. In this latest collection, Daniel Roseberry explores the brand's origins, drawing inspiration from the profound relationship between Elsa Schiaparelli and her uncle, Giovanni Schiaparelli—an astronomer recognized for discovering the canals of Mars and coining the term "Martian." “My uncle was an extraordinary individual, leading the Astronomical Observatory in Milan. He cherished me because, as he said, I was born with the constellation Ursa Major on my cheek—referring to my beauty marks. He would always take me stargazing with his large telescope, holding me close while sharing his belief that people like us might inhabit Mars,” Schiap recounted. This familial connection to astronomy is symbolically represented in the Ursa Major brooch that the couturier consistently wore on her chest.
